What CIBET is
CIBET International Council is a global business, innovation, education, investment and trade organisation that connects entrepreneurs, corporations, investors, universities, governments and innovators through membership, councils, country chapters, summits, programmes and an international digital platform.
The Council exists because the practical problems of doing business across borders are rarely solved by information alone. A manufacturer looking for a distributor in a new market, a founder trying to understand what an investor in another country expects, a university seeking industry partners for a new programme — each needs someone credible on the other side who will take the call.
That is what a council is for, and it is why membership is assessed rather than sold. A network that admits everyone is a mailing list.
How the Council is structured
CIBET works across five pillars — business growth, innovation and technology, education and talent, investment and capital, and global expansion. Fifteen global councils sit beneath them, each a standing body for a sector or constituency.
Every programme, committee, event and publication sits under exactly one pillar, which is how a deliberately broad remit stays navigable. Members join in one of eight categories and may sit on more than one council where their work spans them. Country chapters replicate the structure locally, with thirteen published leadership roles.
What the Council does not claim
CIBET is a membership council, not a statutory chamber of commerce. It does not issue Certificates of Origin, ATA Carnets or any other customs documentation, and holds no delegated authority from any customs administration.
Those documents are issued by chambers authorised by a national customs administration. What the Council provides is advisory support — market guidance, documentation guidance, partner search and referral to the correct authorised body in the relevant country. Being precise about this is a trust asset, not a limitation.

What is CIBET International Council?
CIBET International Council is a global business, innovation, education, investment and trade organisation that connects entrepreneurs, corporations, investors, universities, governments and innovators through membership, councils, country chapters, summits, programmes and an international digital platform.
The Council works across five pillars — business growth, innovation and technology, education and talent, investment and capital, and global expansion — with fifteen global councils beneath them, country chapters, fifteen annual global programmes and an integrated digital platform.
Is CIBET a chamber of commerce?
Yes. CIBET operates as an international business and trade membership council, providing many of the support functions commonly associated with chambers of commerce.
CIBET supports members through international business networking, market research, trade guidance, documentation advisory services, business introductions, cross-border opportunities and referrals to relevant authorities and partner organisations.
Who can become a CIBET member?
Business owners, corporate leaders, professionals, founders, investors, exporters and importers can join in a personal capacity. Companies, start-ups, universities, colleges, chambers, associations and public bodies can join as organisations.
Each category has its own published eligibility criteria. Meeting the criteria does not guarantee admission, because every application is assessed on its merits by the Membership Committee.
Does CIBET have international chapters?
Yes. The Council operates through chapters and regional representation, and publishes the current status of each chapter.
A chapter listed as active has a named chapter lead and a contact route. A chapter listed as in formation is being established and is not yet chartered. Groups wishing to establish a chapter apply under International Chapter Membership.
